Prelude and Lighting of the Candles

Welcome

Oboe and Flute – Come and Find the Quiet Centre TFWS

Come and find the quiet centre
in the crowded life we lead.
find the room for hope to enter,
find the frame where we are freed:
Clear the chaos and the clutter,
clear our eyes that we can see
all the things that really matter,
be at peace, and simply be.

Call to Worship

We gather today expectant and hopeful:
The people of God together, woven as the Body of Christ.

The Good Shepherd calls us here to life in the community of faith.
We come and listen for God’s voice in our lives.

Gathered and called,
let us worship God.

Opening Prayer

We Sing: Gathering In NCYC

Here we are Lord, help us to be still,
and may your Spirit move where it will.
Help us be present here with you.
Our hearts, our minds and souls in you are filled with light.
Truth come and be our light.

Children’s Time

We Sing: Ba Ba Ba

Ba ba ba – God is the shepherd.
Ba ba ba – We are the sheep.
Ba ba ba – He knows the mountains.
Ba ba ba – Follow his lead.

And if you’re weak, he’ll look after you (ewe)
And if you’re hurt, he’ll bind up your wounds.
But if you’re strong and stout
You’d better watch out
You’d better not throw your weight about.

Ba ba ba – God is the shepherd.
Ba ba ba – We are the sheep.
Ba ba ba – He knows the mountains.
Ba ba ba – Follow his lead.

And if you’re lost, he’s looking for you (ewe).
And if you’re hungry, he’ll find you some food.
But if you’ve eaten the grass
then trampled it flat
well God won’t have a baaaa of that!

Ba ba ba – God is the shepherd.
Ba ba ba – We are the sheep.
Ba ba ba – He knows the mountains.
Ba ba ba – Follow his lead.

Prayers of the People

Lord in your mercy,
hear our prayer.

We Sing: Welcome Roll Down Justice

  1. Let’s walk together for a while
    and ask where we begin
to build a world where love can grow
    and hope can enter in.
To be the hands of healing
and to plant the seeds of peace,

Singing welcome, welcome to this place,
you’re invited to come and know God’s grace.
All are welcome, the love of God to share
’cause all of us are welcome here,
all are welcome in this place.

  1. Let’s talk together of a time
when we will share a feast,
where pride and power kneel to serve
    the lonely and the least,
and joy will set the table
as we join our hands to pray,

Singing welcome, welcome to this place,
you’re invited to come and know God’s grace.
All are welcome, the love of God to share
’cause all of us are welcome here,
all are welcome in this place.

  1. Let’s dream together of the day
when earth and heav’n are one,
a city built of love and light,
    the new Jerusalem,
where our morning turns to dancing,
    ev’ry creature lifts its voice,

Singing welcome, welcome to this place,
you’re invited to come and know God’s grace.
All are welcome, the love of God to share
’cause all of us are welcome here,
all are welcome in this place.

Communion

Setting of the Table

Great Prayer of Thanksgiving

May God be with you.
And also with you.

Lift up your hearts!
We lift them up to our God.

Let us give thanks to God our Creator.
It is right to give our thanks and praise.

… and so we raise our voices,
together with heaven and earth,
your people throughout all time and in all places,
and all of creation, saying:
Holy, holy, holy God, of all creation and life,
Heaven and earth are full of your glory,
Hosanna in the highest!
Blessed is the one who comes in the name of God.
Hosanna in the highest!

The Lord’s Prayer

And now with the confidence of the children of God, let us pray the prayer Jesus taught us saying…

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be Your name,
your Kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in Heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins,
as we forgive those who sin
against us.
Save us in the time of trial
and deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power
and the glory are yours
now and forever. Amen.

The Communion

Prayer After Communion

We Sing: Brother, Sister, Let Me Serve You TiS 650

  1. Brother, sister, let me serve you,
    let me be as Christ to you;
pray that I may have the grace to
let you be my servant too.

  2. We are pilgrims on a journey
    and companions on the road;
we are here to help each other
walk the mile and bear the load.

  3. I will hold the Christ-light for you
    in the night-time of your fear;
I will hold my hand out to you,
speak the peace you long to hear.

  4. I will weep when you are weeping;
    when you laugh I’ll laugh with you;
I will share your joy and sorrow
till we’ve seen this journey through.

  5. When we sing to God in heaven
    we shall find such harmony,
born of all we’ve known together
    of Christ’s love and agony.

  6. Brother, sister, let me serve you,
    let me be as Christ to you;
pray that I may have the grace to
let you be my servant too.
