Talking to God and to Each Other

We Sing: All Are Welcome ATFG 515

All are welcome, friend and stranger,
at the banquet of the Saviour.
All are welcome, all are welcome here.

  1. From the woman who comes crying,
    leaving tears at Jesus’ feet,
to the man who knows the right way,
    but cannot see.

All are welcome, friend and stranger,
at the banquet of the Saviour.
All are welcome, all are welcome here.

  2. From the ones who feel forgotten,
those who sense their place is gone,
to the ones who live in hunger –
    here you belong.

All are welcome, friend and stranger,
at the banquet of the Saviour.
All are welcome, all are welcome here.

  3. Go into the streets and cities,
    to the farms and families.
Tell about the splendid table –
    God’s mercy.

All are welcome, friend and stranger,
at the banquet of the Saviour.
All are welcome, all are welcome here.

Remembering Noah’s Ark Story

We Sing: Noah’s Ark Song

Hurry up! Hurry up into the ark!
Clouds are approaching and it’s getting dark,
Move all the animals in two by two,
Watch where you’re walking, don’t step in the poo! (ew!)

Chase all the monkeys up into the boat,
Lions and tigers and big billy goat,
Horses and zebras and pink cockatoo
Camels and llamas who’ll all spit on you! (ew!)

God told old Noah that big rain would come,
No one believed him, they’d only poke fun,
This is a farmyard, a barn and a zoo,
Down comes the rain, close the doors quick! – Phew!

(Slow)
It has been raining for forty long days
We’re tired of waiting through all the delays
It’s smelly and squeezy and we’re getting bored,
Isn’t it time that we heard from the Lord? (– yawn)

Sent off two birds, they flew back tuckered out,
Sent out another, and look there’s no doubt,
Twigs in her beak so there must be new land,
Dry resting places for this soggy band. ( – hooray)

(A tempo)
Hurry up, hurry up, move them all out,
Look at the sunshine, there’s green grass about,
Up high a rainbow where sunlight comes through,
God’s promised safety to me and to you.

Now we remember that God’s word is true,
When we see red, yellow, orange and blue,
Indigo, vi-o-let, green in the sky,
Rainbows of joy and not mud in your eye!

A Conversation about Noah’s Ark

We Sing: Animals Rock

Hippos, camels, alligators, dingoes,
Beetles, squirrel, polar bears, hyenas
They’re furry, they’re funny,
They slide upon their tummies
Animals are creatures that rock.

Monkeys, fieldmice, rattlesnakes, and lizards
Chipmunks, pandas, butterflies and poodles

They’re furry, they’re funny,
They slide upon their tummies

Animals are creatures that rock

…and roll, run and climb
walk around and jump

sleep all the time…
Lions, tapirs, anacondas, zebras
Warthogs, donkeys, kangaroos and foxes
They’re furry, they’re funny,
They slide upon their tummies
Animals are creatures that rock.

We Sing: Rainbow Song

Red and yellow and pink and green
Purple and orange and blue
I can sing a rainbow,
Sing a rainbow,
Sing a rainbow too.

Listen with your eyes,
Listen with your eyes,
And sing everything you see,
You can sing a rainbow,
Sing a rainbow,
Sing along with me.

Red and yellow and pink and green,
Purple and orange and blue,
Now we can sing a rainbow,
Sing a rainbow,
Sing a rainbow too!

Responding to What We Heard God Say

How can we be signs of hope in the world too?

Scripture Reading: Matthew 10:40-42

A Conversation about Wonder Workers

We Sing: Wonder Workers

Is it a bird? Is it a plane?
No! It’s a wonder worker!

Have you ever met a wonder worker
doing wonderful work with God?
Have you ever met a wonder worker
doing wonderful work with God?

They serve!
They care!
They give!
They share!

When things go wrong they set them right.
When things are hard they shine the light.
When all seems lost – they find a way.
They’re wonder workers everyday.

Have you ever met a wonder worker…

They serve!…

When things go wrong they set them right…

Have you ever been a wonder worker
doing wonderful work with God?
Have you ever been a wonder worker
doing wonderful work with God?

Praying for Our World and Wonder Workers

The Lord’s Prayer

And now with the confidence of the children of God, let us pray the prayer Jesus taught us saying…

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be Your name,
your Kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in Heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins,
as we forgive those who sin
against us.
Save us in the time of trial
and deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power
and the glory are yours
now and forever. Amen.

We Sing: This Little Light of Mine

This little light of mine,
I’m goin’-a let it shine,
this little light of mine,
I’m goin’-a let it shine;
this little light of mine,
I’m goin’-a let it shine,
let it shine, let it shine,
let it shine.
