Call to Worship

The doors are open, and the live streaming begun.
We are the body of Christ, united in spirit and in this journey of life.

Some of us come joyfully, at being physically present together;
some of us come tentatively, with fear of more coronavirus cases spreading;
some feel strange with so many changes in place,
and others relieved to remain connected online.
May we act with love for one another,
holding space for our different experiences
and grace as we navigate our way into unknown territories.

However we come, we come knowing that we are God’s people.
May we be attentive to the Spirit in our midst,
responsive to Christ’s call upon our lives,
and open to God’s guidance this day.

Prayer

We Sing: Life to the Brim

Life to the brim, life overflowing.
Life pouring out in compassion and grace.
Spirit of God well up within us.
Bring us to life in this time and this place.

Come Holy Spirit
Lord and giver of life.
Make us your people
Make us the body of Christ.

Life to the brim, life overflowing.
Life flooding in from below and above.
Spirit of God pour out upon us.
Bring us to faith and to hope and to love.

Come Holy Spirit
Lord and giver of life.
Make us your people
Make us the body of Christ.

Life to the brim, life overflowing.
Foretaste and sign of the healing to come.
Spirit of God, strengthen and guide us.
Take us and use us ’til your Kingdom’s come.
Take us and use us ’til your Kingdom’s come.

Prayers of the People

The Lord’s Prayer

Several translations of the Lord’s Prayer are available in the booklets on the pews.

And now with the confidence of the children of God, let us pray the prayer Jesus taught us saying…

We Sing: You Shall Go Out with Joy TiS 755

You shall go out with joy
and be led forth in peace,
and the mountains and the hills
shall break forth in singing.
There’ll be shouts of joy,
and the trees of the fields
shall clap, shall clap their hands,
and the trees of the field shall clap their hands,
and the trees of the field shall clap their hands,
and the trees of the fields shall clap their hands,
and you’ll go out with joy.
