A Light on the Hill

Jesus Whispers

His story we had heard
So many times,
And yet not listened.

No such thing
As a free lunch,
We’d come to believe,
Like all the rest.

A self-evident truism
In a commercialised,
Individualised,
Self-interested world.

We didn’t think.
We just bought into it,
Lock, stock and barrel.

But still He whispers
Of grace, love, healing and hope.
How can they survive
In the world we know?

That’s His miracle.
They do.
